Compensation: $17.75 to $25.50 per hour (Exact rate is determined on a case-by-case basis commensurate with experience level, as well as education and certifications pertaining to each position which may be above the listed job requirements.)

As a Unit Secretary II, you are the central air traffic controller and steady anchor for our Snuggery Unit. By commanding the front desk, routing communication, and managing patient medical charts, you free up nurses and physicians to focus entirely on direct bedside care. Your rapid response to intercoms, mastery of the computer network, and sharp organizational skills during patient arrivals and discharges directly reduce hospital wait times. You do not just handle administrative tasks; you actively orchestrate a calm, safe, and flawlessly coordinated environment that allows our clinical teams to save lives.

What You’ll Do:
- Handle all incoming phone calls and patient intercoms with a friendly, respectful tone, routing messages to the right staff instantly.
- Maintain all required documentation and log books
- Perform clerical duties in support of the admission/discharge/transfer/ birth and death process.
- Place pages for providers including obstetrics, pediatrics, and anesthesia.
- Order crucial medical supplies, arrange immediate equipment repairs, and manage the unit’s bulletin and communication boards.
- Follow procedures for obstetrical emergencies in a timely and controlled manner.
- Control visitor access with strong conflict resolution skills according to unit policy.
Qualifications We Look For:
- High school diploma or GED required (AAS degree in health administration, business, or finance preferred)
- 1 year of healthcare office experience or direct patient care experience at any level is highly preferred
- Strong computer literacy, basic math skills, and excellent written and verbal communication are required
- Highly organized, able to multi-task under pressure, and exceptionally dependable with your schedule
- A foundational grasp of basic medical terminology is a plus, but we will train the right person!
