Maudine's - Lead Barista

The Junto is a modern-day embodiment of Ben Franklin and his club of the same name. His “club for mutual improvement” brought together people from all backgrounds to discuss issues and ideas of the time while enjoying life. With an emphasis on public gathering spaces, our hotel gives visitors, locals, entrepreneurs, and artists alike a place to come together, exchange ideas, and inspire one another. We are looking for a passionate coffee expert who takes pride in crafting exceptional beverages and delivering outstanding service. The Lead Barista will prepare high-quality drinks, guide guests through our menu offerings, and provide personalized recommendations based on their preferences. Success in this role requires strong customer service skills, deep knowledge of coffee, and a solid understanding of brewing equipment and café operations.

Requested Tasks

• Assist with inventory management, including ordering and ensuring the store remains fully stocked at all times
• Maintain Drug Store Coffee standards and ensure the team takes ownership of a clean, organized, and guest-ready space
• Manage employee discounts and collect runner tip-outs as needed in accordance with company policies
• Assign cleaning and side-work tasks during slower periods to maintain operational efficiency
• Restock the grab-and-go refrigerator with required beverages and food items.
• Support the development and execution of specialty beverages, including recipe builds, pricing, and presentation standards
• Serve as the acting lead in the absence of the Coffee Shop Supervisor, ensuring smooth daily operations
• Assist with training new team members and uphold consistent service, quality, and operational standards across the team

Requested Capabilities

• Prior experience as a barista is highly preferred  
• An extensive knowledge of coffee, tea and other drink recipes 
• A proactive and thoughtful nature 
• Professional demeanor and thoughtful nature
