
Analytical Scientist – Biopharmaceutical Characterization
Job Description
We are seeking an Analytical Scientist – Biopharmaceutical Characterization to support the development and analysis of biologic drug products. This is a hands-on laboratory role focused on applying analytical and biophysical techniques to characterize proteins and other biotherapeutics throughout the development lifecycle.
You will play a key role in evaluating stability, purity, and overall product quality while working closely with cross-functional teams supporting formulation and process development.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform analytical characterization of biotherapeutics including monoclonal antibodies, proteins, mRNA, vaccines, and antibody-drug conjugates
- Execute and analyze data from techniques such as:
- HPLC (SEC, IEX, HIC, RP)
- Capillary Electrophoresis (CGE, iCE)
- Spectroscopic and biophysical methods
- Particle characterization (light obscuration, microflow imaging)
- Assess molecular stability and support formulation development through data-driven insights
- Compile, analyze, and present data to support development decisions
- Maintain accurate documentation using Empower, ELNs, and other lab systems
- Support lab operations including equipment maintenance, ordering, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with scientists, project teams, and cross-functional stakeholders
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Chemical/Biochemical Engineering, Pharmaceutics, or related field
- 1+ year of industry experience with analytical techniques (HPLC strongly preferred)
- Experience working with biologics (proteins, antibodies, enzymes, vaccines, or mRNA)
- Strong data analysis and documentation skills
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
Preferred:
- Hands-on experience with capillary electrophoresis or advanced analytical methods
- Familiarity with stability studies and protein characterization
- Experience with lab data systems (Empower, ELN)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a team environment

Additional Details:
The position is Full Time, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Andover, MA are encouraged to apply.
