Job Description
Some of what you will do:
The Account Manager II (AM) is responsible for delivering on sales and profitability quota targets, exceeding organizational KPI’s, as well as retaining and penetrating business essentials and growth category sales in existing locations of assigned (primarily large and enterprises sized) accounts within a defined geographic territory. The AM serves as the primary contact for buyers and works together with Growth Category Specialists (such as Facilities, IT, Furniture, Print, Promo), Customer Service and other company resources to manage and grow the day-to-day customer relationship. Account Manager also develops business by driving increased compliance and sales across their entire portfolio.
Specifically, You Will:
Manages day-to-day relationship with customers by developing relationships with key contacts/buyers.
Active in field work, exceeding all customer facing (in-person) Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
Identifies and builds relationships with customers, to penetrate deeper into Staples Professional key categories of Business Essentials and Growth Categories.
Identifies and develops strategy for short-term and long-term sales retention and penetration opportunities, by managing all funnel activity as well as all customer facing activity in the CRM.
Executes all prescriptive selling opportunities as provided including generated sales plays, customer facing activity, sales meetings and customer marketing opportunities.
Coordinates account servicing and fulfillment with support from Customer Service.
Introduce, promotes and educates customers on Staples Professional’s growth categories.
Increase market share within portfolio of accounts through penetration of Growth Categories and reactivating assigned inactive & dormant accounts.
Physical Environment/Working Conditions:
Field work, daily travel to customer locations to execute in person customer meetings.
Travel out of market or into Staples offices on an as needed basis for training, team meetings, conferences etc.
Some of what you need:
Completion of college/university.
Strong relationship building skills.
Effective communication both verbal and written.
Ability to navigate systems including CRM (SFDC), Staples proprietary systems (Alpha), and proficient in use of Microsoft suite of products.
Strong understanding of sales processes and working in a team sales environment.
Sales or Account Management experience preferred.
Experience working with a CRM tool such as SFDC, preferred.
Minimum 3 years outside sales experience, including a proven track record of delivering on results to plan
