Title:
Process DesignerWe are looking for an experienced and driven Senior Process & Safety Designer with strong expertise in Safety Layouts, P&ID development using SmartPlant P&ID (SPPID) and AVEVA P&ID. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical excellence, data-centric design knowledge, and leadership ability to deliver high-quality engineering documentation aligned with client and project standards.
This role demands a proactive professional capable of working independently, mentoring team members, and ensuring seamless coordination with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project success.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure seamless coordination and preparation of HAC, F&G, and Escape Route Layout drawings
- Develop, draft, and check Process P&IDs, UFDs, and MSDs in compliance with project and client specifications
- Ensure accuracy and consistency between SPPID databases and drawings
- Apply in-depth knowledge of engineering symbology and client standards
- Perform QA/QC checks (HQC & SQC) and drive continuous improvement in drawing quality
- Review and validate Line Lists, Valve Lists, and Instrument Lists, ensuring data integrity
- Exposure to multi-discipline coordination and large-scale oil & gas projects
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical and drafting queries within the team
- Generate reports, identify errors, and ensure timely resolution to maintain project quality
- Lead and mentor junior designers to enhance team capability and productivity
- Review team outputs to ensure high-quality deliverables and continuous improvement
- Establish and improve P&ID drafting standards, QA/QC processes, and documentation practices
- Interface with clients to ensure design compliance, quality expectations, and timely delivery
- Support project execution through risk identification and mitigation related to process safety design
- Contribute to digital engineering initiatives, including database optimization and workflow automation
- Participate in project planning, estimation, and resource allocation
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
Qualifications including Required Education, Experience, & Skills:
- A minimum of 10-25 years of experience as a Process Designer / Process Safety Designer, with at least 10 years working in SPPID, AutoCAD & MicroStation.
- Hands on experience: SPPID, AutoCAD, Aveva PID’s & MicroStation
