Job Description
The Jefferson Hotel, a renowned hotel in Richmond, VA, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Turndown Attendant to join our Housekeeping team. This part-time position plays an important role in creating a welcoming and restful evening experience for our guests by ensuring guest rooms are thoughtfully prepared each night.
This role is scheduled 5 PM – 9 PM Sunday – Thursday and 5 PM – 10 PM Friday and Saturday. Full flexibility is required to work any night of the week, including weekends and holidays. Training for this position will be conducted during daytime hours.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare guest rooms for evening occupancy by turning down bed linens, folding back duvets and sheets, and fluffing pillows.
- Place turndown amenities in guest rooms, such as chocolates or breakfast menus, in accordance with hotel standards.
- Make beds and refresh linens as needed, ensuring all bedding meets cleanliness and presentation expectations.
- Perform light cleaning and tidying, including emptying trash, removing room service trays, and dusting surfaces.
- Replenish towels, linens, and guest room amenities upon request.
- Close drapes, adjust lighting, and create a calm, welcoming evening ambiance for returning guests.
- Retrieve and deliver guest-requested items promptly and professionally.
- Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and respect for guest privacy at all times.
Qualifications
- Prior housekeeping or hotel experience preferred, but not required; training will be provided.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high service standards.
- Clear communication skills and a polished, guest-focused presence.
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform light physical tasks for the duration of the shift.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
- Must be available to work any shift between 7:00 AM – 11:00 PM as needed for training or business needs.
