Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Field Application Engineering to lead our team of technical experts in providing exceptional support to our customers. The Director of Field Application Engineering will play a pivotal role in driving customer success by understanding their unique requirements, providing technical guidance, and ensuring seamless integration of our products into their applications.
What You’ll Do
This role will lead a team of Field Application Engineers within the designated business unit. This leadership includes:
Team Leadership• Lead, mentor, and coach a team of FAE's.• Set clear goals and expectations for the FAE team and provide regular feedback and performance evaluations.• Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment focused on achieving sales targets and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
Sales Support• Partner with sales leadership to understand customer requirements and develop tailored solutions.• Lead technical presentations, demonstrations, and proof-of-concepts to showcase product capabilities and address customer needs.• Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to ensure alignment between customer requirements and product roadmap.
Sales Enablement• Develop and maintain technical sales collateral, including presentations, case studies, and product documentation.• Provide training and enablement sessions for the sales team on product features, competitive positioning, and industry trends.• Support the development of sales strategies and go-to-market plans for key products and solutions.
Customer Engagement• Serve as a technical advisor to customers, helping them understand the value proposition of our products and solutions.• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including technical decision-makers and influencers.• Participate in customer meetings and workshops to gather requirements, assess technical fit, and address any concerns or objections.
Continuous Improvement• Stay current on industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies relevant to our products and solutions.• Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation to streamline activities and enhance efficiency.• Drive innovation and experimentation to differentiate our offerings and drive competitive advantage.
What You’ll Bring• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).• 7+ years of experience in Field Application Engineering, Sales Engineering, or technical consulting roles.• Proven leadership skills with experience managing and developing high-performing teams.• Strong technical aptitude and expertise in relevant technologies, platforms, and industries.• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.• Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of driving revenue growth through presales support.• Ability to travel as needed to support customer engagements and sales activities.
