This position supports the Army Prepositioned Stocks – 4 Program located in Camp Carroll, Korea. The Maintenance QC Inspector will comply with all applicable safety and environmental regulations, local safety policies, and KBR’s Zero Harm program.
Job Summary
The Maintenance QC Inspector will comply with all applicable safety and environmental regulations, local safety policies, and KBR’s Zero Harm program. The inspector is responsible for inspecting and validating numerous types of tactical wheel vehicles, track vehicles, and engineer commodities, along with various other inbound and outbound equipment maintained on the APS-4 program. The inspector verifies quality in the conduct of work associated with Engineering Changes, MWOs, MAMs, and SOUMs.
The inspector works closely with management, leads, and mechanics to improve the quality process of maintenance operations; ensures the proper use of automated maintenance systems and the accurate completion of maintenance documentation; and proactively discovers, analyzes, and resolves discrepancies, weak points, and bottlenecks by utilizing scheduled and unscheduled inspections, quality metrics, Six Sigma methodology, and the ISO 9001:2015 QMS. The inspector ensures required plans, procedures, work instructions, and quality records are developed, maintained, and followed by operational personnel, and that all corrective actions are brought to a satisfactory conclusion through the Corrective Action System.
The inspector performs initial, random, and final inspections on equipment submitted for repair or services and performs ECOD as requested. When tasked, provides support for Key Leader Engagements (KLE), equipment issue and receiving for designated unit draws, and Contingency Operation draw exercises for training and real-world missions. The position requires basic knowledge of AWRDS and proficiency with LIW to obtain the information required for the job. Performs other duties as assigned.
Roles and Responsibilities
Inspect and validate tactical wheel vehicles, track vehicles, engineer commodities, and other inbound and outbound equipment maintained on the APS-4 program.
Verify quality in the conduct of work associated with Engineering Changes, MWOs, MAMs, and SOUMs.
Work closely with management, leads, and mechanics to improve the quality process of maintenance operations; ensure the proper use of automated maintenance systems and the accurate completion of maintenance documentation.
Proactively discover, analyze, and resolve discrepancies, weak points, and bottlenecks using scheduled and unscheduled inspections, quality metrics, Six Sigma methodology, and the ISO 9001:2015 QMS.
Ensure required plans, procedures, work instructions, and quality records are developed, maintained, and followed by operational personnel; ensure all corrective actions are tracked to satisfactory conclusion through the Corrective Action System.
Perform initial, random, and final inspections on equipment submitted for repair or services; perform ECOD as requested.
Provide support for Key Leader Engagements (KLE), equipment issue and receiving for designated unit draws, and Contingency Operation draw exercises for training and real-world missions as tasked.
Utilize GCSS-A and LIW to obtain and validate required maintenance information.
Comply with all applicable safety and environmental regulations, local safety policies, and KBR’s Zero Harm program.
Basic Qualifications (Required Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)
Must be a U.S. Citizen with a valid U.S. Passport.
Ability to provide documentation to qualify as US EXPAT Invited Contractor Status and SOFA Visa IAW USFK 700-19 Regulation.
Possess a valid State Motor Vehicle Operator License.
High School/GED plus seven years of directly related work experience in the maintenance and repair of U.S. Army tactical wheel and track vehicles, including MRAPs.
In lieu of formal course work, a combination of college credits, on-the-job training, other formalized training, or experience may be considered.
Ability to work from technical manuals, work instructions, and work orders.
Favorable adjudication of an NACI background check.
Must be able to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment, heat and humidity.
Ability to lift 50 pounds to waist level and 35 pounds to shoulder height.
Must be able to work in confined spaces.
Required to pass initial and periodic drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications (Preferred Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)
Certification from a vocational school or other recognized source, such as a military service-related Advanced Individual Training with a focus in wheel/track vehicle maintenance, is preferred.
Prior QC inspection experience on U.S. Army tactical wheel and/or track vehicle platforms.
