Job Description
Essential Job Functions include:
• Ensure that all food products are consistently prepared and served according to the facility recipes, portioning, cooking, timing, serving and presentation standards. Ensure freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality, keeping track of old and new items, and rotating stock.
.• Inspect and clean food preparation areas, such as equipment, work surfaces, and serving areas, to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices.
• Ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperature by regulating temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.
• Observe and test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently, using methods such as tasting, smelling, or piercing them with utensils.
• Produce and serve all Kaminski Chophouse menu items including: steak, chicken, and various seafoods, vegetables, and other foods.
• Work several different stations. Participate as a team and use core values and service expectations.
• Knows and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures.
Education:
Required- High School Diploma
Experience:
Required- 1 year experience working as a chef in a fine dining restaurant
Preferred- 2 year experience as a chef in a fine dining restaurant
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:
The ability to work with other people effectively and with other staff positions is important. Must be trainable and take instruction to learn position.
Physical Requirements:
*Lifting and carrying: The ability to lift or carry items of 20 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations.
*Responding to sounds: The ability to respond quickly to sounds
*Manual dexterity: The ability to use fine motor abilities for detailed tasks, such as handling knives for chopping, cutting and dicing
*Balance and coordination: The ability to ensure stability during task performance, such as executing precise movements
*Hearing: The ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds
*Vision: The ability to see clearly at approximately 20 inches or less (near visual acuity) and at 20 feet or more (far visual acuity)
