Qualifications
- Commitment to the Mission of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School
- Degree in Theatre, Performing Arts, or a related field is often preferred not required
- Ability to work cooperatively as a team member
- Significant experience in directing musical theatre productions, with a proven track record of successful shows.
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong leadership and communication skills, creativity, and a deep understanding of musical theatre, including acting, singing, and choreography.
- Creative Vision:
- Develop and articulate a clear vision for the production, including interpretation of the script and music.
- Collaborate with the creative team to establish the overall aesthetic and direction of the show.
- Casting:
- Audition and select performers for roles, ensuring a well-rounded cast that fits the vision of the production.
- Guide and mentor actors throughout the rehearsal process.
- Rehearsal Management:
- Plan and conduct rehearsals, including blocking, choreography, and musical direction (some piano proficiency preferred)
- Provide constructive feedback to performers to enhance their performances.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with choreographers, musical directors, stage managers, and designers to ensure cohesive production elements.
- Facilitate communication between various departments (e.g., set design, lighting, sound) to achieve the desired outcome.
- Production Oversight:
- Oversee all aspects of the production from rehearsals to performances, ensuring that the show runs smoothly.
- Make adjustments and decisions as needed during the rehearsal process and performances.
