
Medical Technologist
Job Description
AS THE MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNOLOGIST, you will be responsible for performing multiple and varied laboratory tests in an accurate, precise, and timely manner. The Technician will monitor quality control material and other practices involved with effective laboratory protocol, while performing blood draws on patients as needed. The Technician is also responsible for the pathologist.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate's degree in Medical Technology required
- Must be registered as a Medical Technician with an ASCP (or AMT) certification) or must eligible to sit for the registry or must qualify as Testing personnel for High Complexity Labs per 42 CFR 493.1489 within one year of hire date
- Non-ASCP certified personnel must become ASCP Board Certified within one year of eligibility
- Please note:Those who hold a certificate that does not expire must be a member with either ASCP or AMT. If you are on a maintenance program with expiration, you are not required to be a member, but must maintain your certification
