Athletic Attendant
Location: The Dominion Country Club
Part-Time Position (Weekend Availability Preferred)
Reports To: Director of Health & Wellness
The Athletic Attendant supports daily operations across the Fitness Center, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all members and guests. This role combines customer service, facility upkeep, and safety monitoring, with a focus on delivering a high-quality member experience.
Responsibilities:
- Greet members and guests in a friendly, professional manner and build positive relationships
- Assist with check-in processes and accurately record member activity in the system
- Maintain knowledge of club amenities, events, and policies; answer questions and educate members
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of fitness areas
- Set up gym amenities
- Provide towels, refreshments, and general assistance to guests; clear used items and trash
- Monitor fitness areas to ensure safety and enforce all rules and procedures
- Perform daily inspections of facilities and report any issues or incidents to management
- Answer phones using proper greeting and assist with inquiries
- Open and/or close facilities as scheduled and complete all shift duties
- Attend required meetings and communicate feedback or concerns to management
Requirements:
- Previous customer service or hospitality experience preferred (1+ year ideal)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Friendly, outgoing, and team-oriented attitude
- Ability to lift and move equipment and weights as needed
- Basic knowledge of fitness equipment
- Good time management and organizational skills
- CPR/AED certification recommended
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
- Professional appearance and positive demeanor
