
EMG Technologist PRN
Job Description
The EMG Technician will perform nerve conductions and assist the provider with the EMG portion of the procedure. The EMG Technician will provide accurate and efficient evaluation of this information and also perform clerical duties as necessary to support the department. Provides care that meets the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care; meets the communication needs of patient and family. Maintains regulatory requirements, nursing and clinic policies, procedures and standards. Communicates with physicians and team members about patient's condition, including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.
Completion of an approved EMG program or equivalent experience in neurosciences. Two year degree in Neurodiagnostics or related field is required.
Additional Qualifications
- Demonstrates competency in the EMG Technician role.
- Ability to monitor and analyze EMG and other neurophysiology wave patterns.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Demonstrates skills in leadership, problem-solving, continuous improvement, verbal and written communication and team building.
- Basic improvement concepts and techniques.
- Flexibility in order to accommodate patient/department needs.
License/Certifications
- Current BLS certification.
