General Notes

Position is a part-time, 20 hours per week, appointment. Consistent work schedule will be pre-arranged with supervisor. Must be eligible to work in the US on a full-time basis for any employer without sponsorship.

Purpose

The Academic Technology Associate is responsible for assisting with the coordination and oversight of all phases of the campus-wide Course Evaluations System (CES). This work supports the mission of the Office of Academic Technology at The University of Texas at Austin.

Responsibilities

  • The Academic Technology Assistant (ATA) supports the Course Evaluations System (CES) operations by managing Course Evaluation Liaison (CEL) records and providing ongoing support.
  • Working closely with the Senior Academic Technology Specialist, the ATA
    contributes to daily operations, stakeholder support, and continuous process
    improvement to ensure efficient and reliable course evaluation services.
  • Maintain academic technology documentation processes and resources, including the CES website, calendars, and guides, ensuring that all materials are accurate and up to date.
  • Provide customer support through email, ticketing systems, and office hours.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to track and resolve issues.
  • Assist with course evaluation processes that help ensure data accuracy through the practice of regular auditing.
  • Assist the Office of Academic Technology with other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree. One year of experience working in a customer service role. Experience working with online computer systems. Experience training users in how to use online computer systems. Ability to act as a liaison between technical team support and “customer” end users. Superior organizational skills. Ability to consult on policies and procedures with faculty and staff audiences using a respectful, customer-focused approach. Exhibit maturity, integrity, discretion, a positive attitude, and grace under pressure. A self-starter with the ability to summarize complex information, work with sensitive data, pay attention to detail, and complete assignments reliably and on time.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

More than the required years of experience working in a customer service role. Experience in administering and processing electronic surveys. Experience managing complex projects. Experience working in a team environment

Salary Range

$20,000 annually (based on a 20 hour work week)
