About the Role:
This is a role within the Castrol organisation and the successful candidate will become part of the Castrol ring-fence. If you are part of the ring-fence, it is expected that your employment will move with Castrol to new ownership.
Castrol is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Head of Global Internal Communications to lead the design and delivery of a compelling global communications strategy. In this highly visible role, you will ensure that employees across all markets, functions, and environments are informed, engaged, and aligned with Castrol’s strategy, transformation journey, and purpose. From Day 1 of separation and throughout the transition to a standalone organisation, you will play a critical role in connecting people to business priorities and enabling organisational success.
You will work closely with senior leaders, including the Castrol Leadership Team, to shape messaging, support key enterprise initiatives, and create impactful communications that resonate across a global workforce.
What You’ll Do:
Global Communications Strategy
Design and deliver a global internal communications strategy aligned to business priorities and transformation goals
Develop strong, clear narratives that enable employees to understand strategy, performance, and change
Tailor enterprise messages to diverse regional audiences while maintaining consistency
Employee Engagement & Campaigns
Lead global “license to operate” internal campaigns (e.g. safety, cyber, compliance), ensuring critical business messaging is clearly understood and actioned.
Drive engagement across office, plant, R&D, supply chain, and frontline teams globally
Establish and track metrics and insights to continuously improve effectiveness
Leadership Communications & Events
Partner with senior leaders to deliver executive communications, including:
Messaging frameworks
Presentations and scripts
Town halls and leadership roadshows
Lead the planning and delivery of high-impact HQ events, ensuring strong engagement and execution
Digital Channels & Content
Act as a digital communications expert, optimising internal platforms (e.g. intranet, Viva Engage, Teams)
Oversee development of high-quality, accessible multimedia content
Enhance user experience and reach through data-led improvements
Change & Transformation Communications
Support major transformation initiatives with clear communication roadmaps and narratives
Identify and mitigate communication risks associated with change
Enable employee adoption and engagement throughout transition phases
Stakeholder Collaboration
Build strong partnerships with:
Castrol Leadership Team
Global and regional communications teams
P&C and functional partners
Provide critical communications counsel across the organisation
What We’re Looking For:
Experience
Extensive experience in internal communications, ideally in a global, matrixed organisation
Proven ability to develop and deliver high-impact communication strategies
Strong background in:
Leadership communications
Change and transformation communications
Large-scale employee engagement initiatives
Skills & Capabilities
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex messages
Strong digital communication expertise, including internal platforms and content systems
Data-driven attitude with ability to use insights to enhance communication impact
Excellent partner management, including influencing senior leaders
Creative, strategic problem solver with strong execution capability
Desirable
Experience within automotive, lubricants, manufacturing, or technical environments
Exposure to crisis or reactive communications
Understanding of diverse workforce segmentation (frontline, plant, hybrid, etc.)
Ability to work with data insights to enhance communication impact.
Experience using AI and digital tools in communications
