Chemours is seeking a Area Continuous Improvement Leader to join our growing Advanced Performance Materials (APM) team. This position will be available at the Washington Works Plant located in Parkersburg, WV and reports directly to the Sr. Value Stream Leader.
The Area Continuous Improvement Leader is a key site leadership role responsible for leveraging the Chemours Business System to enhance employee engagement, drive the acceleration of continuous improvement in operational excellence (including safety and environmental) as well as delivering strategic site initiatives across the site manufacturing value streams. This position is responsible for driving continuous improvement with a lean mindset and experience using, and leading, the tools, systems, and methodologies. The role partners closely with the Chemours Business System Team site leadership, cross-functional teams, other continuous improvement experts, and initiative owners to architect and execute improvement strategies, leveraging Lean, Six Sigma, and digitalization methodologies.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Uses Chemours Business System tools to adopt LEAN culture (leader standard work, managing systems, standard KPIs, 5S, etc.) and support LEAN process OD improvement activities.
Provides focus/alignment within designated Area to ensure an adequate pipeline of initiatives to meet TCOM/competitiveness targets
Acquires deep understanding of area profitability and collaboratively develops a 3-year improvement strategy by highlighting areas of opportunity and assessing resource limitations.
Interacts with Capital project and prioritization stakeholders to prevent underfunding of strategy.
Integrates improvements with data analytics (interfacing with data scientist/SCRUM master teams), agile ways of working, and digitalization initiatives.
Supports the Annual Site Profitability Review process.
Drives the execution of the area improvement strategy, including ownership for the reporting of progress versus key milestones
Facilitate ideation sessions for new area initiatives
Partner with initiative owners to develop rigorous and well-defined project milestones and timelines
Provides coordination and execution coaching to project teams
Leads any needed Area Continuous Improvement stand up meetings and initiative monitoring
Maintains expertise and provides consultation for area teams on dashboards (KPI metrics/datasets)
Mentors area personnel to grow Continuous Improvement culture
The following is required for this role:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or other related field
5+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, with demonstrated leadership in process improvement and cross-functional initiative execution
Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to extract and summarize key concepts and pertinent facts from various complex sources
Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies
Background in data analytics integration, dashboarding, and digitalization of manufacturing processes
Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills with proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization
