JANITORIAL CONTRACT WORKER - JANITORIAL SERVICES

Location: New Windsor, NY Hours: Mon-Fri 8am-2pm (30hrs) Rate: $20.45   **Individuals with a disability strongly encouraged to apply**   OVERVIEW OF PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES:   This position will be responsible for the cleaning of various buildings on the grounds of the Air National Guard. Quality assurance, maintaining overhead costs, and ensuring high customer service standards are the major tasks associated with this position.  PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:   Floor Care (knowledge of scrubbers or auto-buffers a plus) Cleaning of restrooms Window cleaning Removing of trash and recyclables Vacuuming & Dusting Deep cleaning as instructed Possible snow removal   ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONAL / ORGANIZATIONAL SUPPORT:   Works as part of a team to ensure the requirements of the contract are fulfilled Additional tasks as assigned by supervisor   QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES:   Previous custodial or janitorial experience Strong organization skills with accurate attention to detail Excellent communication skills and the ability to multi- task Good customer service skills Able to adapt and work in a fast-paced environment Ability to function as part of a cohesive team     EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:   Previous cleaning experience required   PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS:   Capable of walking between buildings to get to other locations Must be capable of standing for several hours Must be able to moving arms back and forth in a “mopping” motion Must be able to lift >20 lbs Must be able to push a shovel Must be able to climb stairs Work alongside co-workers within 3 feet Must be able to reach overhead to get at higher locations
