Provides ministry to patients, families, and staff by addressing their spiritual concerns and needs. Visits patients and their families in hospital rooms or during casual encounters in various hospital areas. Responds to Code Blue and other emergencies immediately, maintaining a high standard of performance. Responds to requests for Chaplain's services within twenty-four hours. Visits surgery patients within forty-eight hours of admission or surgery. Conducts periodic support groups for clinical staff. Maintains open communication with all staff members throughout the hospital. Conducts or directs devotional services in the chapel on a scheduled basis for patients, families, and staff. Conducts or attends devotional activities with departments whose schedules conflict with chapel services. Maintains cooperative relationships with local clergy by contacting patients' pastors or faith groups as requested. Provides instruction and support through seminars, in-service sessions, support groups, and individual counseling on coping skills for stressful situations. Conducts quarterly Grief Recovery Seminars for families and friends of former patients and others experiencing loss. Performs other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Membership in appropriate organizations fostering standards of proficiency preferred, (e.g. Association of Professional Chaplains, Association of Clinical Pastoral Educators, etc). [Preferred]
Education:
• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Pay Range:
