Position Summary
The Cook is responsible for hands-on food preparation and production while maintaining high standards of food quality, cleanliness, safety, and hospitality. This role supports daily meal service, special events, and resident satisfaction.
Cook Essential Duties & Responsibility
Experience preparing made-to-order breakfast items in a short-order environment, delivering high-quality dishes such as eggs, omelets, pancakes, and breakfast meats while providing a timely and hospitality-focused dining experience for residents and guests.
Prepare and serve meals following standardized recipes, menus, and dietary guidelines, including therapeutic diets as ordered.
Ensure food quality, taste, appearance, and presentation meet community standards.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen in compliance with local health codes and company policies.
Demonstrate efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness in food preparation and service.
Support meal service for daily dining, activities, and special events.
Monitor food storage areas and maintain proper inventory and supply control.
Provide excellent customer service and interact professionally with residents, families, and team members.
Collaborate with culinary and community team members to support a positive dining experience.
Cook Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 year of cooking experience (restaurant, senior living, or similar environment).
Ability to follow standardized recipes and dietary requirements.
Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
ServSafe/Food Handler’s Permit (or ability to obtain).
Annual flu vaccination required (medical or religious exemptions considered).
