Description

When you join the Police Federation of England and Wales, you will be part of a non-for-profit organisation that serves more than 145,000 rank and file police officers in the political and personal arena. You will work with experts in policing, motivated colleagues, and front-line officers to position the organisation as the undisputed voice of policing. 

The Case Supervisor will work within the West Mercia Branch and support members with case applications and initial enquiries, and provide administration support to the branch. 


Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting members with case applications, triaging and signposting them to the appropriate assistance. 
  • Research and Review Force Policy and Police Regulations to provide support advice and guidance to members.
  • Responsible for the members additional services enquiries received in the federation office allocating relevant matters to the appropriate Federation official and taking further action as required.
  • Maintain a detailed knowledge of members additional services in order to assist members. 
  • Maintain the office systems, including the data management, scanning and filing of documents.
  • Deal with incoming mail, email, faxes and post, including pending correspondence on behalf of the executive.
  • Take all office incoming calls and screening office phone calls, enquiries and requests, and handle them when appropriate or direct them to the appropriate person/s.
  • Responsible for communicating with the federation membership via newsletter circulation, social and electronic media;
  • Screening Freedom of Information (FIO) records and referring them to the appropriate person or department;
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of policy and procedures relating to the role
  • Comply with Health and Safety Guidance
  • Promote equality and fairness in working practices
  • Arrange the travel, accommodation for the executive officers.
  • Organising and arranging diaries and making appointments.
  • Organising meetings on behalf of the executive officer.
  • Prepare and distribute minutes and agendas of federation led meetings.
  • Bring relevant issues to the attention of the Secretary and/or Chair. 



Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Experience of working in a confidential environment or with sensitive issues
  • Proven ability to work on own initiative, with minimum guidance to resolve problems
  • Previous expereince of using CMS or similar databases 
  • Demonstrate an understanding of inter-agency working
  • Demonstrate broad experience of dealing with people and supplying advice that meets policy, legislation and organizational needs
  • Demonstrate strong verbal logical reasoning, communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Demonstrate the ability to collaborate and build effective working relationships with relevant stakeholders
  • Proven ability to write and quality assure correspondence
  • Proven ability to use IT skills with knowledge of Microsoft office and the ability to use other Computerised systems such as membership databases
