Your responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring cashflow across your estates and identifying potential issues before they become problems

  • Managing a team of Service Charge Accountants, ensuring key milestones are completed accurately and on schedule

  • Holding regular team meetings and one-to-ones to support performance, development and engagement

  • Coaching, mentoring and training team members where needed

  • Allocating tasks effectively across the team

  • Carrying out internal reviews of service charge accounts in line with Review Matrices

  • Championing the Encore Way and setting a positive example for your team

  • Completing annual staff appraisals and probation reviews

  • Managing ground rent remittances to freeholders

  • Supporting budget reviews

  • Handling corporation tax administration

  • Working with the Service Charge Accounts Manager to improve systems, refine procedures and strengthen commercial awareness across the team

What were looking for

  • ACCA, CIMA or ACA qualification, or be qualified by experience

  • Experience preparing year-end accounts

  • Experience working in an accountancy practice, desirable but not essential

  • At least 2 years’ managerial or supervisory experience

  • Experience using Qube Property Management software, advantageous but not essential as full training will be provided

You’ll be successful in this role if you have:

  • Excellent time management, prioritisation and diary management skills

  • Strong team leadership skills, with the ability to motivate others and create a positive, can-do culture

  • Excellent numeracy and analytical skills, with confidence handling financial information

  • Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

  • Competence with mail merging

  • The ability to build strong working relationships across different teams and departments

This is a role where you can make a real impact. You’ll have the opportunity to lead people, improve processes, work with a wide range of stakeholders and play an important part in delivering a high-quality service to clients and residents.
