Job Description

Arcadis is the world's leading company delivering sustainable design, engineering, and consultancy solutions for natural and built assets.

We are more than 36,000 people, in over 70 countries, dedicated to improving quality of life. Everyone has an important role to play. With the power of many curious minds, together we can solve the world’s most complex challenges and deliver more impact together.

Role description:

Arcadis' Romania office is seeking an experienced Architect/Interior Designer to join our dynamic Workplace team, contributing to a range of high-profile projects.

You will take full ownership of planning deliverables, from feasibility studies and blocking strategies to detailed layout development. You will coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including MEP and cost consultants, proactively resolve planning constraints, and ensure all outputs meet Arcadis standards and applicable codes.

As a senior member of the team, you will provide guidance to junior designers, review outputs prior to issue, and support project leads in maintaining delivery excellence across multiple fast-paced assignments.

You will also contribute to improving digital workflows, automation initiatives, and AI-enabled planning tools to enhance efficiency and consistency

Role accountabilities:

  • Deliver high-quality test fits, space planning and layouts, aligned with client requirements, Arcadis standards, budgets, timelines and applicable codes.
  • Develop space planning solutions by analysing client headcount, workflows, adjacencies and future growth scenarios.
  • Ensure technical feasibility and code compliance through coordination with MEP teams and adherence to life safety, ADA and BOMA requirements.
  • Take full ownership of work quality, including self-review, clear presentation of design concepts and support for preliminary cost planning.
  • Collaborate effectively with global Workplace teams, contributing to continuous improvement through digital workflows, automation and innovative planning tools.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or Architecture, with 7+ years of experience in Workplace design, including blocking, stacking and high‑volume test fits.
  • Proven ability to deliver accurate test fits within tight deadlines (24–48 hours).
  • Mandatory proficiency in Revit; experience with 3D visualization tools (e.g. SketchUp, Enscape, Lumion) is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial building codes, ADA and BOMA standards, with experience coordinating with MEP and cost teams.
  • Strong client-facing, communication and collaboration skills, with openness toward digital initiatives and process automation.
  • Good English skills.
