Job Overview:

LPL Financial is seeking a Vice President, Payments to support and lead business development and growth initiatives for the Banking Solutions function. This individual will be accountable for the day-to-day execution of the payment capabilities that LPL offers through the Cash Management platform including Debit Cards, Bill Pay, and Check Writing. The candidate should also have familiarity with modern digital payment capabilities such as Zelle, Real Time Payments, and FedNow. The candidate will partner closely with the product organization to prioritize, design and lead initiatives that deliver outstanding experience and value to our Advisors and their clients. The VP will support and lead the development of strategy, client experience, service model, and go-to-market plan to meet adoption, usage and financial outcomes and objectives. This individual will partner closely with Product, and Field Engagement leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure initiatives are prioritized, stay on track, actively manage risks and dependencies and provide leaders with clear visibility into progress, tradeoffs and outcomes – driving disciplined execution and measurable impact across a complex, matrixed environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Own and drive strategy, design and prioritization of the Payments portfolio, including program structure, governance forums
  • Lead initiatives to identify, evaluate and manage critical vendors and partners that support the payment capabilities.
  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with senior stakeholders and influence execution across initiatives without direct authority
  • Coordinate across multiple workstreams and functional partners to ensure alignment on scope, sequencing, interdependencies and delivery commitments
  • Establish and maintain a consistent operating rhythm across initiatives, including planning cycles, progress tracking, risk management and executive reporting
  • Proactively identify, surface and manage risks, issues and tradeoffs, escalating with clear options and recommendations
  • Partner with initiative owners to ensure delivery plans are realistic, milestones are well-defined and execution remains tightly connected to intended outcomes
  • Develop and deliver executive-ready materials that clearly communicate progress, risks, decisions needed
  • Continuously evolve delivery practices, governance and tools to improve speed, transparency and accountability across the domain

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in banking and payments, product management, or related roles, preferably within wealth management or financial services
  • Demonstrated experience driving execution across large, multi-year portfolios with multiple stakeholders and dependencies
  • Program management and execution discipline, with the ability to bring structure to ambiguity and momentum to complex initiatives
  • Proven ability to influence senior leaders and drive outcomes in a matrixed environment without direct authority

Core Competencies:

  • Executive communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable narratives
  • Business judgment and problem-solving skills, with comfort navigating tradeoffs and decision points
  • Relationship building and management skills; ability to develop high functioning collaborative partnerships both internally and externally

Preferences:

  • Experience developing and implementing innovative banking and payment solutions; and creating frictionless digital experiences on both mobile and web platforms.
  • Experience supporting or leading large-scale business or technology transformation initiatives
  • Background in payments and money movement including card networks, and real-time networks.
  • Familiarity with sales, growth or client-facing operating models within wealth management or financial services
  • Analytical orientation, with experience using metrics, milestones and delivery indicators to manage execution
  • High emotional intelligence, sound judgment and a collaborative, inclusive leadership style


 

Pay Range:

$135,960.00 - $226,600.00


 

Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
