As a Senior Power Electronics Engineer, you will join a highly motivated team developing cutting-edge solutions for Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs), Robotics, and Industrial Automation systems.
In this role, you will take end-to-end ownership of power electronics design, including specification, architecture, development, testing, and validation of electrical systems. You will collaborate closely with Firmware, Validation, and Field Application teams to deliver high-performance and reliable products.
You will also play a key role in technical leadership, troubleshooting complex field issues, and driving continuous product improvement and innovation.
Responsibilities
- Lead projects from concept through production, coordinating cross-functional teams and ensuring timely delivery.
- Define system-level requirements for electric powertrains, balancing performance, cost, efficiency, and reliability.
- Develop system architectures, select components, and design schematics for power electronics systems.
- Perform system-level and circuit simulations (SPICE, MATLAB) to validate concepts and optimize performance.
- Define and implement design strategies to meet EMC and regulatory requirements.
- Develop test plans, perform debugging, and validate designs at system and component level.
- Lead root cause analysis of product and field issues and implement corrective actions.
- Drive new technology development and propose improvements in power converter and motor drive design.
- Produce high-quality design, validation, and compliance documentation.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to team capability development.
- Maintain and improve schematic symbols and PCB footprint libraries.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Master’s Power Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 6+ years of experience in power electronics or hardware design
- Proficient with Altium Designer, SPICE, and MATLAB/Simulink.
- Strong hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and EMI/EMC troubleshooting.
- Solid understanding of PCB layout practices for power electronics and EMC.
- Design of inverters and power converters
- Motor drive control techniques (PMAC, AC induction, IPM)
- Analog and digital circuit design (low-voltage systems)
- EMC design at PCB and system level
- Reliability engineering fundamentals
- Functional safety (advantageous)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Proactive, solution-oriented mindset
- Ability to work independently and lead technical decisions
- Continuous learning attitude
Travel
- Up to 5% Domestic and International may be required
Language
- Advanced English communication skills, both spoken and written, are required
