We have an exciting opportunity for an EMI/EMC Engineer for 1st or 2nd shift in our Electrical Engineering Department with the ASI Division. Under general supervision and with regular review, this position is responsible for the electromagnetic interference (EMI) and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing of unmanned air vehicle systems. This position also supports broader electromagnetic environmental effects (E3), helping ensure that our systems operate safely and reliably in demanding electromagnetic environments.
This is a full‑time, on‑site position (with travel to test facilities and other offsite locations as required); remote work is not available.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform EMI/EMC testing of all electrical and electronic equipment from the component level through the complete air vehicle level.
- Collaborate with other engineering departments to define, procure, and develop test support equipment
- Perform bench and anechoic chamber testing
- Design EMI/EMC test cables and test setups using Visio and other tools.
- Travel to flight test facilities as required to support aircraft testing.
- Travel to 3rd party test labs as required to support EMI/EMC testing.
- Generate test procedures, test reports, and other documentation to support qualification to EMI/EMC standards, such as, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, and RTCA DO-160.
- Review electrical/electronic schematics and system designs to perform EMI/EMC analysis and provide design recommendations and best practices.
- Work with cross-functional teams to perform system-level risk assessments and support requirements development for E3, EMI, and EMC.
- Analyze and troubleshoot EMC/EMI issues and support design teams in resolving failures and implementing best practices
- Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
