Location: Borden Mine, Chapleau, Ontario, Canada
Rotation: 7 on, 7 off or 14 on 14 off
Shift Length: 11 hours
Salary Range: $73,000 - $123,000/annum, range is variable and dependent on overtime worked and production bonus paid
Allowance: Based on location

Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the HSE Superintendent, the Trainer is responsible for training employees to safely and efficiently operate underground mining equipment and perform mining-related tasks while meeting all Redpath, Client and legislative requirements.
General:
Asses an employee’s current skill level and assist in creating action plan to meet goals and objectives
Follow formalized training plan to help ready employee’s on safe operations of various pieces of mobilized equipment
Training the national workforce on all types of mechanized mining equipment
Coordinate training activities and maintain administrative functions
Conducting theoretical training in a classroom environment underground
Conducting practical training underground
Maintain relevant knowledge of mobile equipment; including new pieces of equipment on site and changes in manufacturer.
Responsible for identifying and correcting improper operating procedures
Ensure that best practices are followed to help mitigate accidents and that all workers are following safety rules and procedures
Maintain and update the projects safety and training matrix in coordination with both electronic and hard copied document control
Perform onboarding orientations including but not limited to Redpath Fatality Prevention Program, 5-Point Safety Card, Cardinal Rules, Redpath employee safety handbook, Employee elimination protocols, etc.
Perform coaching and mentoring with supervisors on monthly audit supervisory compliance packages including tracking the completion percentages (leading and lagging indicators)

Health and Safety:
- Having the authority and responsibility to maintain a safe and efficient working environment
- Following Redpath Canada Limited health and safety standards and systems, including the Five Point Safety System and the Cardinal Rules, and reporting any unsafe acts or conditions
- Ability to participate and complete incident / accident investigations and take corrective action to prevent injury and / or re-occurrence
- Responsible to ensure proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment required in the performance of the work
- Must have knowledge of the WHMIS legislation and know how to effectively use an MSDS sheet.
- Comply with the Mine Regulation Act and Regulations clauses that apply to your work area.
Education
Ontario Basic Underground Hard Rock Miner – Common Core or other provincial equivalents
Ontario Basic Underground Hard Rock Mining Specialty modules: Equipment specific sign-offs including but not limited to: Epiroc Boltec’s, Maclean Bolter, Maclean Emulsion Truck, Eprioc E2C Boomer Jumbos, Sandvik LHD514, Sandvik 45 Ton Haul Trucks, Marcotte M40 Boom Trucks, MC100 Minecats Tractor, Mancarrier, 950 Front End Loaders, Telehandlers, Normet Spraymec Shotcrete Machine & Transmixer, Cat 420 Backhoe, Pipe Handler and Fan Handler or other provincial equivalents
Ontario Basic Underground Hard Rock Front Line Supervisor – Common Core or other provincial equivalents
Work Experience:
5 years or more as a trainer preferred
Train the Trainer certification or equivalent
