
Baler Room Attendant
Job Description
The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the efficient removal of waste and recyclables from the facility, optimizing recycling revenue and minimizing disposal costs. The position requires operating various equipment, including forklifts, balers, shredders, compactors, and blowers, to process recyclable materials and manage waste effectively. *Must have Forklift Experience*
Duties
- Operates fork truck, balers, shredder, compactor, controls, and blowers to produce bales of recyclable wastepaper product and to dispose of unusable materials in a cost-effective manner.
- Sorts materials into economically viable groups to maximize revenue as directed by our wastepaper broker and others.
- Manually processes sorted materials and combines grades into bales along with automatic waste segregation to maximize revenues.
- Weighs and grades bales; records information to generate Bill of Lading documents.
- Loads trucks according to destinations and grade combinations as directed.
- Calls for pick up and transportation of trailers as necessary.
- Performs daily maintenance and loads baling wire.
- Maintains security and destroys books as required by customers.
- Manually sorts materials for salvage to minimizing waste going to the land fill. Operates compactor safely to dispose of rejected materials.
- Moves & stages scrap trailers around plant property with yard truck.
- Fork truck safety inspection, oil check & cleaning.
- Performs all daily cleaning & maintenance tasks.
Qualifications
- Proficient in operating forklifts and front loader trucks
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and sanitation practices
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and maintain cleanliness in work areas
- Strong attention to safety protocols and operational efficiency
Schedule Available:
- Day Shift: 2x2x3 - 7AM to 7PM
- Night Shift 2x2x3 7PM to 7AM
