Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Intern – Sunroof Equipment Development

As an Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Intern, you will be an integral part of the team responsible for developing, adjusting, and continuously improving specialized manufacturing equipment for sunroof production. Your responsibilities will include:
Project Management & Tracking
- Drive Progress: Utilize core project management tools including action plans and timelines to ensure equipment development milestones are met on schedule.
- Supplier Monitoring: Manage supplier tracking reports to oversee the fabrication progress, quality, and delivery timelines of external equipment vendors.
- Performance Documentation: Create, update, and maintain try-out reports to document equipment testing phases and validate machine performance against engineering specifications.
Equipment Debugging & Readiness
- Vendor Validation: Participate in the initial debugging, runoff, and readiness evaluation of new manufacturing machinery directly at supplier facilities.
- Plant Integration: Support the final installation, commissioning, and optimization of assembly equipment within the live production plant.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify mechanical, electrical, or process bottlenecks and propose engineering modifications to improve cycle times and equipment reliability.
Engineering Data & Documentation
- Root Cause Analysis: Analyze equipment performance data to identify failure modes and implement permanent engineering solutions.
- Standardization: Update technical documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and visual work instructions for new sunroof manufacturing lines.

- Education: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline.
- Core Competencies: Strong organizational skills with exposure to project management principles; familiarity with automated assembly equipment or tooling is a plus.
- Mindset: An eager-to-learn, proactive, and positive attitude toward solving complex engineering challenges.
