Job Description
We're looking for a hands-on Art Director to join our Creative Studio in Tokyo and lead the visual identity of Amazon's fastest-growing commerce experience in Japan. Quick Commerce is redefining how customers shop for everyday essentials – and you'll be the creative engine behind how it looks and feels across every touchpoint. This is a high-output, high-impact role. You'll craft campaign visuals that connect with Japanese culture and seasonal moments, design across a range of digital formats, and help shape the creative language of a product that's scaling rapidly across Japan.
Key job responsibilities
• Lead end-to-end creative production for campaigns across onsite banners, storefront displays, promotional assets, email, and push notifications
• Translate seasonal and cultural moments (梅雨, 衣替え, お中元, etc.) into compelling visual narratives at pace
• Design and adapt assets across multiple store formats and placements, maintaining visual consistency while tailoring to local context
• Create multi-product compositions that tell a merchandising story
• Develop motion graphics and lightweight animations to elevate campaign assets
• Design email templates and visual components for outbound marketing campaigns
• Work at speed – you'll be delivering fresh creative every few days, across multiple campaigns running in parallel

- Speak, write, and read fluently in Japanese
- Speak, write, and read fluently in English, and have the ability to take direction in English
- A strong portfolio demonstrating high-volume campaign production with fast turnarounds
- Ability to flex between formats (static, motion, email, social) while keeping a cohesive visual thread
- Deep understanding of Japanese visual culture, seasonal sensibilities, and consumer aesthetics
- Comfort with ambiguity and shifting priorities in a fast-moving environment
- Fluency in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma
- Gen AI Fluency
