Job Description
OVERVIEW
The DC Operator Level I is the entry level of employee working as part of the team who receive, handle, process, and ship all of IEWC’s customer materials while maintaining our reputation for operational excellence and premier customer service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Meets DC expectations for all job functions outlined by their manager/supervisor.
Seek opportunities for cross-training amongst the various jobs in the DC.
Follow IEWC’s ISO procedures.
Make decisions within the context outlined by his or her manager/supervisor or work instructions.
Maintain work area to the IEWC 5s standards.
Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations.
Assemble spools, as requested.
Perform minor repairs to equipment and machinery, as needed.
Follows IEWC’s attendance policy.
Communicate effectively and professionally in line with IEWC’s values.
Build relationships and teamwork with his or her co-workers.

TECHNICAL SKILLS
Education and/or Experience: High School graduate (or GED) and 3+ months of manufacturing or distribution related experience; or a combination of education and experience.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding and carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Applications Skills: Ability to work in a Windows environment and with standard current computer applications.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Movement: Frequently required to use hands and fingers, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls. Frequently required to stand and walk, to stoop, kneel or crouch, to use feet to operate equipment. Frequently required to talk and hear. Occasionally required to sit, reach above shoulders and climb or balance. Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
Work Environment: Occasionally is exposed to outside weather conditions. Frequently works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places. Frequently is exposed to fumes and airborne particles. Frequently is exposed to a noise level ranging from moderate to high. Occasionally is exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and vibration.
Personal Protective Equipment: Requires the use of safety shoes, eye protection, and fall protection.
