As a Family Advocate, you will be a trusted partner for families enrolled in our Early Head Start Family Child Care program. Through relationship-building, advocacy, education, and connection to community resources, you will help families navigate challenges, set goals, and move toward greater stability and self-sufficiency. Your work will directly support children's healthy development and help create brighter futures for families across our community.
What You’ll Do
- Build strong, supportive relationships with families through ongoing communication and regular home visits.
- Connect families with in-house and community resources that support their health, education, and well-being.
- Serve as a liaison between families, program staff, and community partners to ensure coordinated support services.
- Help familiesidentifystrengths, assess needs,establishgoals, and access resources that promote long-term success.
- Monitor and support child attendance, health, dental, and family service requirements to ensure children receive comprehensive services.
- Plan andfacilitateparent engagement opportunities, including monthly parent meetings and volunteer activities.
- Support Family Child Care provider meetings and contributeexpertisearound family engagement and support services.
- Assistwith recruitment, enrollment, orientation, and retention efforts to help families access Early Head Start services.
- Maintainaccuraterecords and case management documentation inChildPlusand other required systems.
- Track and document program in-kind contributions, including parent volunteer participation.
What You Bring
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Family Studies, Human Services, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working with children, families, and community partners, with at least two years of experience in a social service agency or similar environment.
- A passion for empowering families and supporting young children during their most critical years of development.
- Strong relationship-building, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accurate and timely documentation.
- Experience working in Family Child Care, home visiting, homeless shelters, or other non-traditional early childhood settings.
