Salary Range: £36,363 - £38,220 per annum, plus Market Supplement of £3,500 per annum

Work Location: Fleet Maintenance Centre, Eastleigh

Hours per week: 37

Contract Type: Permanent

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced HGV Technician to join our Fleet Maintenance Centre at Eastleigh, maintaining and repairing the vehicles and specialist equipment that support frontline emergency response across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

 

This is more than just a workshop role. Every maintenance task, repair and inspection you carry out helps ensure our firefighters responding have peace of mind that they have reliable vehicles and equipment available.

The Role:

You will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, inspection, diagnosis and repair of a diverse fleet including:

  • Fire appliances
  • Pumps
  • Specialist emergency response vehicles and associated Service equipment
  • Vans, cars and 4x4 vehicles
  • Trailers

 

The role includes planned preventative maintenance, inspections to DVSA standards, fault diagnosis, electrical installs, repairs and emergency breakdown support.

 

Out-of-Hours Duty Technician Rota:

Once fully trained and assessed as competent, the successful candidate will join our 1 in 5 Duty Technician rota, providing out-of-hours technical support to our operational fleet. Participation in the rota attracts a 16% salary enhancement, reflecting the additional responsibilities associated with this role, including responding to call-outs when required.
