Job Description
- Consistently provides service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers, and co-workers.
- Performs room maintenance duties to include room turnover preparation and trouble shooting of equipment.
- Performs administrative and other duties as needed.
- Prepares, cares, and maintains medical equipment and instruments utilized in the endoscopy department.
- Decontaminates/high level disinfection of equipment used in accordance with Infection Prevention policy and procedures.
- Follows equipment IFU’s (Instruction for Use).
- Demonstrates understanding and adheres to proper PPE attire.
- Provides and maintains a safe environment for patient and staff by complying with regulatory agency requirements and standards.
- Prioritizes duties according to patient and department needs.
- Responsible for personal continuing education.
- Compliance with ethical, professional, and legal standards inherent to patient care and professional conduct.
- Participates in Process Improvement activities as directed.
- Collaborates within the GI Team and other health care professional to ensure quality and continuity of care.
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned or requested.
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent
- (BLS) - Basic Life Support certification (obtain within 90 days of position start, offered within)
- Basic computer skills.
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned or requested.
- Must be a Nursing Assistant in an acute care setting or have one (1) year current experience (within the past three (3) years) reprocessing flexible endoscopes.
- Proficient in the decontamination and disinfection of endoscopic equipment (obtained with six (6) months)
- Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor Certification through CBSPD (Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution) (obtain within six (6) months)
