
I&E Technician - CO2 (Iraan, TX)
Job Description
Primary purpose:
- Kinder Morgan CO2 Company is currently seeking an I&E Technician for the Yates Field in Iraan, Texas. The successful candidate will serve a vital role in maintaining the safe and efficient operation of all aspects of the Yates Field and compression facilities and assist Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance departments in the installation, modification, maintenance, and repair of automation and electronic equipment in order to maintain production and facility uptime.
What You Will Do
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Involved in the fabrication, installation, modification, overhaul, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic equipment ranging from limited complexity to complex electronic systems
- Use standard hand tools and a variety of test equipment to locate defective parts
- Inspects and documents contract work on company assets.
- Performs preventive and predictive maintenance on various equipment as requested.
- Provides oral and written communication of activities to appropriate personnel.
- Complete appropriate documentation and paperwork.
- Operate company vehicles during daily activities.
- Strict adherence to all site specific and Kinder Morgan policies and procedures
- Proactively completes all required training and EHS KPIs.
- Identify, report, and correct safety and environmental concerns.
- Other related duties as assigned.
What You Need
Minimum requirements:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience / specific knowledge:
- Must have completed at least one (1) year at I&E Tech 1 or industry equivalent
Certifications, licenses, registrations:
- Maintain a satisfactory driving record as determined by the company and a current, valid State driver’s license
- Subject to random drug testing
Competencies, skills, and abilities:
- Familiar with various communication protocols
- Understanding of current loop troubleshooting, repair, and field operations
- Proficient with electronic test equipment
- Understanding of flow measurement systems
- Knowledge of pump operations
Physical demands:
- Primarily outside work
- Frequently lift and carry, unassisted, items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Walking, climbing, standing, and sitting
- Some inside work for training, working on computer
Working conditions:
- Traditional Work Schedule M-F; 7-5
- Overtime required
- Emergency response
- Callouts
- On-call
- Must live within 30 min response time to Yates Fiel
Supervisory responsibility:
- None.
Preferred education, experience, certifications, competencies, skills, and abilities:
Above the minimum requirements; not required but advantageous in this position:
Associates or technical degree
Level and salary commensurate with experience
