
Production Assistant Manager
Job Description
Resumen This role leads production teams, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and ensures compliance with company standards, customer requirements, and operational KPIs in a maquiladora manufacturing environment. Responsabilidades Essential Duties and Responsibilities Support daily production operations to ensure compliance with production schedules and delivery commitments. Supervise and coordinate Sheet Metal manufacturing processes including fabrication, punching, bending, welding, grinding, assembly, and finishing operations. Monitor production efficiency, scrap reduction, downtime, labor utilization, and overall operational performance. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies. Lead production supervisors, group leaders, and hourly personnel to achieve operational goals. Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, cost reduction, and process optimization. Analyze production metrics and implement corrective actions when targets are not achieved. Coordinate with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and EHS departments to support manufacturing objectives. Ensure proper staffing levels, workforce planning, training, and employee development. Support implementation of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and operational excellence initiatives. Monitor inventory accuracy, material flow, and work-in-process (WIP) levels. Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions related to production or quality issues. Support new product launches and process validations within the Sheet Metal operation. Ensure compliance with ISO standards, customer requirements, and internal manufacturing procedures. Promote a positive work environment focused on teamwork, accountability, and employee engagement. Qualifications Education Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field preferred. Experience Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in manufacturing operations within a maquiladora environment. Minimum of 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role within Sheet Metal manufacturing.
