Job Description:

ESPN is the world’s leading sports entertainment company. Our mission is to serve sports fans. Anytime. Anywhere. And to do it with authority and personality. In Australia and New Zealand, ESPN operates the ESPN, ESPN2 and WatchESPN subscription television sports channels. ESPN’s digital network is one of Australia’s leading destinations for online sport new, scores and highlights, comprising ESPN.com.au, ESPNcricinfo and ESPNfootytips.

In this market ESPN holds an extensive portfolio of premium sports rights including the NBA, NFL, MLB and UFC, along with Australia’s NBL and WNBL basketball leagues. ESPN is known and Australia’s ‘Home of US Sports’ and ‘Home of Hoops’.

To support the launch of ESPN on Disney+, the Disney+ Programming team is seeking a Video Content Producer to join the team. This is a unique opportunity to help shape how sports fans experience their favourite moments – ensuring we are serving our audience with engaging and relevant content across our premium sports portfolio.

This role is a casual role contracted through our payroll vendor CXC, with the view of working a standard 38 week. There will be the need to work some weekends, mainly across peak league or tournament periods.

The purpose of the role is to support the creation of short form content across key leagues and tournaments. Working in partnership with ESPN International Production and D+ ANZ Programming teams.

Our ideal candidate is a self‑described sports nutter, someone who lives and breathes the game—whether that’s following every stat, debating big plays, or staying across breaking sports news. You have a genuine passion for storytelling and a sharp instinct for what fans care about right now.

You’re a creative thinker with a knack for turning ideas into engaging, platform‑specific content. You understand how different audiences consume sport and can tailor your approach accordingly, while maintaining a consistent and compelling voice.

Above all, you’re proactive, curious, and always looking for new ways to elevate content and connect with audiences—because for you, sport isn’t just a job, it’s what you love.

The role suits a digital first sports content creator, with outstanding video and design skills, strong copy writing ability and the talent to generate editorial ideas, as well as lead and execute bespoke creative concepts that align with the local strategy.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Production and creation of timely shortform content in-line with ESPN/D+ priorities, branding & quality, across:

  • Live events (matches/ games)

  • League supplied content

  • Special events

  • Original Content / Studio Shows

  • Handling all end to end artwork needs

  • Creation and upload of metadata

  • Content trafficking through relevant ingest pipelines, ensuring end to end delivery

  • QC of all content produced

  • Weekly communication with ESPN International Programming Team to maintain effective organization of responsibilities

  • Identify sport content trends,  sharing across teams

The successful candidate will have:

  • 3-5 years of content production/co-ordination in sport media

  • Experience in digital content management systems

  • Experience/keen interest in using/learning new content creation tools including eg. WSC, Canva

  • Experience in using tools such as Photoshop and Adobe Premiere

  • Strong sports knowledge relating to teams, players, and storylines

  • Exceptional knowledge of sport, user behaviours, and competitor platform strategy

  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple and varied tasks

Additional Information:

This is unique opportunity to join the talented team that develops and delivers unparalleled entertainment across Australia and New Zealand so if this role captures your imagination then apply now!
