Job Description

Skating teachers work to provide opportunities for youth, adults, families and older adults to come together at Leddy Arena and attain new technical skills on the ice in a welcoming environment.

Union Affiliation: Non-Union
Pay Grade: $19.15 - $36.41 Hourly 
Remote Tier 1: Zero (0) days remote/week
  • Teach and assist with group skating instruction in weekly lessons and camp settings.
  • Respond to public inquiries on arena programs, rules, regulations and use.
  • Ability to actively support City diversity, equity, and cultural competency efforts within stated job responsibilities and work effectively across diverse cultures and constituencies.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion as evidenced by ongoing trainings and professional development.
  • Must be at least 15 years of age.
  • Must have passed at a minimum the US Figure Skating Juvenile MIF test. 
  • Previous work experience teaching ice skating preferred.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to work on a varying schedule with varying hours of work on various days of the week.
  • Must be able to work effectively with other Arena staff and the general public.
  • Ability to maintain professional appearance.
  • Ability to pass background check.
