Position Overview:
Lead and develop a high-performing manufacturing team to execute production schedules with precision, uphold quality and safety standards, and drive continuous improvement. This role collaborates cross-functionally to set priorities and implement production plans, maintains and enhances SOPs and work instructions, and advances Practical Process Improvement (PPI) to achieve cost savings and efficiency gains.
The supervisor monitors production metrics, analyzes data to identify opportunities, implements corrective actions, and ensures compliance with policies. Through proactive staffing, training, and performance management, the role builds a skilled, efficient team capable of meeting Thermo Fisher Scientific’s operational and regulatory requirements while continuously improving processes and outcomes.
Main Job Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise a team of manufacturing personnel to ensure flawless execution of production schedules and adherence to quality standards.
Advise the daily work to ensure schedule completion while leading utilization and efficiency.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine manufacturing priorities and successfully implement production plans.
Maintain a quality system by following SOP's and work instructions and updating as needed.
Promote Practical Process Improvement (PPI) to achieve cost savings goals.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize manufacturing processes and increase efficiency.
Assist in preparing and maintaining SOP’s for department and ensure that all policies and procedures are followed accurately and efficiently.
Supervise production metrics and analyze data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies in the manufacturing area.
Train and develop team members to enhance their skills and competencies.
Ensure employees follow company policies and performance managers when vital.
Maintain the staffing plan and develop a highly productive and efficient team.
May be required to perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification
Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 0 to 5 years).
Minimum 2+ years of people management/leadership experience.
Preferred: Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite to support daily operations is required.
Proven leadership skills and the ability to empower and inspire a team.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to apply problem-solving methodology to understand root causes and implement solutions.
Management Role: Directly supervises administrative support and / or technical staff.
