Job Description
Position Summary
Performs tasks related to the monitoring and documentation of heart rates and rhythms.
Minimum Requirements
Education
· High School Graduate or equivalent
Experience
- Must be able to read, write and speak English Fluently
License/Registration/Certifications
· Certificate for successful completion of the arrhythmia course within 3 months of hire
· BLS certification obtained within 3 months of hire

· Performs Secretary Duties
· Basic Computer Skills
· Demonstrates competency utilizing electronic health record
· Knowledgeable in use of and response to Facility Alert, Medical Alert, and Medical Emergency Systems
· Identifies areas for improvement and seeks ways to work on self-defined weaknesses
· Demonstrates knowledge and ensures compliance with clinical expectations regarding regulatory agency requirements (DNV, DHEC, CMS)
· Remains committed to unit, department, and division goals
· Attends continuing education classes for improvement offered at Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System.
· Reports risk management concerns to appropriate person
· Adheres to proper chain of command.
· Adheres to system required values and commitments
· Provides safe patient are environment
· Supports patient experience initiatives
- Serve as an information resource for staff
- Maintains visual checks on monitors constantly until relieved by a qualified person.
· Monitors are observed continuously, and appropriate procedures and documentation is completed per guidelines and policies
· Assures that alarms are maintained in the “ON” position at all times. Reports mechanical difficulties to the appropriate person and follows up as necessary
· Reports any life-threatening rhythms or significant rhythm changes immediately to the nurse
· Ensure individual telemetry units are cleaned after each use if applicable
· Admit and discharge patients from system in a timely manner
· Ensures proper disposition of competed documents and any other patient records
· Maintains adequate supply of monitoring equipment
· Routinely reviews rhythm strips and the patient’s condition with the nurse in a timely manner
· Successfully completed hospital and unit-based orientation programs and annual competencies
· Observes and communicates SPO2 values when appropriate
· Complies with current policies and procedures
