About the team and the role:

TCGplayer connects hobbyists and hobby businesses to communities. We relentlessly improve the exchange of things and thoughts that fuel passions, providing the most compelling destination and tools for collectible card game enthusiasts and professional sellers! TCGplayer, now a part of eBay, promotes and drives growth of our products and services by connecting a global community of millions of buyers with tens of thousands of retailers in a $25B global collectible hobby market.

As a Software Engineer II, you will help design, build, and maintain the systems that power TCGplayer's Customer Experience (CX) platform. Your work will enable our CX agents to efficiently support both Buyers and Sellers across every aspect of TCGplayer's business. You will contribute to modernizing applications into a microservice-based architecture, integrate with internal systems and third-party platforms, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and reliable customer support solutions.

Build and deliver scalable enterprise applications and platform services using C#/.NET, modern frontend technologies, event-driven systems, and AWS cloud services.

What you will accomplish:

  • Develop backend services and APIs using C#/.NET.

  • Build and support enterprise applications and microservices.

  • Contribute to event-driven solutions using Apache Kafka.

  • Develop user-facing features using React.js/Vue.js.

  • Integrate applications with internal and external systems.

  • Participate in performance optimization, testing, and production support.

  • Implement monitoring, logging, and CI/CD best practices.

  • Collaborate with senior engineers on architecture and technical design.

What you will bring:

  • 4–6 years of experience in C#/.NET 6/7/8 development.

  • Experience with ASP.NET Core and REST API development.

  • Experience with React.js/Vue.js and JavaScript/TypeScript.

  • Experience with Python is good to have.

  • Experience with Apache Kafka, Event-Driven Architecture, and Microservices.

  • Hands-on experience with AWS (EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB).

  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Terraform, and Git.

  • Experience with PostgreSQL and/or MySQL.

  • MongoDB experience is a plus.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.

  • Experience building and supporting enterprise applications in production.

  • Exposure to cloud-native development and distributed systems.
