Job Overview
Manages projects and assigned staff of varying size, scope and impact from single business units up to multi-component projects with high value and organizational visibility within large divisions and departments.
Ideal Candidate
This position provides leadership, direction, and oversight for planning, management, and operations of the integrated library system (ILS) and other emerging technology for Tampa-Hillsborough County Public Library.
The Project Manager - Emerging Technology (Library Services):
- Manages all aspects of database and location administration in the library’s ILS, including SQL server management
- Assists or leads projects for the library related to the ILS and emerging technology and manages related hardware and software
- Communicates and collaborates effectively with vendors, contractors, County departments and staff to set, engage, and achieve objectives of the organization
- Ensures ongoing compliance with all regulatory agencies and ensures efficient operations of all areas of responsibility
- Creates custom, complex reports and provides statistical data analysis and presentation
- Creates and leads one-on-one or group training, provides online video resources and electronic tutorials, and offers staff support related to the ILS and other library technology
- Supervises and provides performance management for library staff
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field, strong problem-solving and time management skills, and at least three years’ experience managing technology projects and services for an organization that has multiple locations.
Starting Salary
$58,947 - $76,627

Emergency Management Responsibilities
In the event of an emergency or disaster, an employee may be required to respond promptly to duties and responsibilities as assigned by the employee’s department, the County’s Office of Emergency Management, or County Administration. Such assignments may be for before, during or after the emergency/disaster.

- Maintain the ability to pass the background checks required for the position. These background checks may include but are not limited to:
- Criminal History Background Check using Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS)
- Level 1 and Level 2 Background screening (Ch. 435 Florida Statutes)
- Child Abuse, Abandonment and Neglect Record Check using the State Automated Child Welfare Information System (SACWIS)
- Sex Offender and Sexual Predator record check using the list maintained by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE)
- Possess the necessary job related license(s) or certification(s) that may include possession of a Florida Driver License (Class E) or an applicable Commercial Driver License (CDL)
