About the Role
The Workplace Support Program Supervisor provides professional supervision and mentoring to employees from organizational clients who work in high-risk, high-stress roles regularly exposed to distressing or conflicting work. Operating within New Zealand's service delivery model where professional supervision is both culturally expected and essential for practitioners in these fields, this role delivers evidence-based individual and group supervision to help clients reflect on their work, monitor their wellbeing, and develop resilience.
You'll provide 1:1 coaching support that assists employees to mitigate psychosocial risks inherent in their roles while maintaining optimal mental health and professional effectiveness. This position directly contributes to client wellbeing outcomes, organizational effectiveness, and TELUS Health's reputation as a trusted partner in supporting employee mental health across the Asia-Pacific region.
The Day-to-Day
Supervision & Client Support:
- Deliver individual and group professional supervision sessions to organizational clients in high-risk occupational roles
- Conduct 1:1 coaching sessions focused on role-specific psychosocial risk mitigation and resilience building
- Provide reflective supervision that assists clients to examine their work, the intersection of work and personal life, and strategies for maintaining wellbeing
- Assess client needs and develop individualized supervision plans that support clients in high-stress, distressing, or conflicting work environments
- Provide evidence-based strategies and interventions to support client resilience and coping
- Facilitate group supervision experiences that promote peer learning and shared support among clients with similar occupational exposures
- Maintain detailed supervision notes and documentation for each client, monitoring and supporting client health, wellbeing, and professional functioning
Quality, Operations & Outcomes:
- Track quality outcomes through post-supervision satisfaction surveys with clients
- Collect and analyze client feedback regarding supervision effectiveness and impact on wellbeing
- Gather customer feedback from organizational clients regarding supervision quality and outcomes
- Ensure adherence to evidence-based supervision standards and best practices, maintaining compliance with New Zealand professional standards and regulatory requirements
- Manage supervision activities for the Workplace Support Program (all services excluding Critical Incident and EAP)
- Maintain billable KPIs with 85% of supervision time allocated to direct billable client activities
- Coordinate supervision scheduling across multiple clients and organizational arrangements
- Operate flexibly across both face-to-face and remote supervision modalities
About You
Qualified Professional – Qualifications in Social Work or Psychology with professional registration (SWRB or NZPB), New Zealand Citizenship, and minimum 3 years counselling experience
Supervision & Mentoring Expert – Proven ability to deliver reflective, strength-based supervision with experience working with clients exposed to trauma and conflicting workplace situations
Exceptional Communicator – Outstanding interpersonal skills with ability to build trust, advanced cultural competency, and proven discretion in managing sensitive situations
Operationally Savvy – Understanding of service delivery metrics, KPI tracking, billing systems, and ability to balance clinical excellence with operational efficiency
Organized & Strategic – Strong time management skills with ability to manage multiple clients and excellent assessment skills to identify needs and goals
Adaptable & Growth-Minded – Flexible across multiple modalities (face-to-face and remote) with demonstrated commitment to professional development and evidence-based practice
