
Integrated Transmission System Specialist
Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
Georgia Power is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Specialist to join our Integrated Transmission System (ITS) team. This key position will be responsible for coordinating project submission and supporting Joint Subcommittee for Transmission Planning (JSTP) activities along with developing innovative project submission tools. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the continued success and advancement of GPC’s policy positions with the ITS.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate and prepare documentation for project submission and resubmission to ITS working groups and JSTP.
- Support JSTP representatives by coordinating project meetings, facilitating action item review, and any additional tasks required.
- Review ITS participants project packages and coordinate questions and responses.
- Coordinate responses to ITS questions on GPC project submissions.
- Assist with cost overrun resubmissions.
- Be the primary ITS contact for the Transmission Project Management Organization.
- Create and maintain an ITS calendar for key deliverables.
- Support the maintenance and ongoing development of the Transmission Parity System (TPS) tool and AI project search tool, ORCA.
- Ensure all JSTP documents are appropriately uploaded to SharePoint and OnBase accordingly.
- Coordinate development of a unified project submission tool for the ITS
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Business, or a related field is a plus.
Experience and Knowledge
- Demonstrated Safety focus.
- 3 years relevant work experience is desired.
- Experience in the following areas is beneficial:
- Transmission Planning, ITS, Area Planning, Transmission Operations, Transmission Policy, Transmission Project Management, and/or Power Delivery Project Management.
- General knowledge of Transmission, Distribution, Operations, Resource Planning, Transmission Policy, the Open Access Transmission Tariff, or related experience is a plus.
- General industry knowledge of Georgia PSC, FERC, NERC, and SERC is a plus.
- Knowledge of FERC regulations and OATT activities is a plus.
- Experience in the energy or utility industry is a plus.
