Job Description

Job Description:

At Remitly, we believe everyone deserves the freedom to access, move, and manage their money wherever life takes them. Since 2011, we've tirelessly delivered on our promise to customers sending money globally, providing secure, simple, and reliable ways to manage their money, ensuring true peace of mind. Whether it's supporting loved ones back home, growing a business across continents, or pursuing new opportunities abroad, we're not just here to move money— we're here to move our global customers forward.

We're looking for builders, reimaginers, and global thinkers who want to work at the intersection of technology, trust, and transformation. If that's you and you're ready to do the most meaningful work of your career—we invite you to join over 2,800 passionate Remitlians worldwide who are united by our vision to transform lives with trusted financial services that transcend borders.

About the Role:

This is a unique opportunity for a builder. As Remitly enters its next phase of growth, you will help design the next version of our organization - a more AI-enabled, global, and multi-product company. You'll partner closely with business leaders to create the conditions for teams to move faster, scale effectively, and win in increasingly competitive markets.

Success in this role requires strong business acumen, sound judgment, and a bias for action. You'll bring a forward-looking perspective, challenge the status quo, and help translate business strategy into organizational outcomes that enable long-term growth. We are looking for a Senior People Partner to support the Vancouver site and a portion of the Remitly business based in the U.S. Reporting to the Director, People Partners, you will partner closely with leaders to build high-performing teams, strengthen organizational effectiveness, and deliver on our people strategy. You will serve as a trusted advisor to leaders, helping them navigate organizational design, workforce planning, talent management, performance, and employee relations. This role combines strategic partnership with hands-on execution and requires strong business acumen, sound judgment, and a data-driven approach to decision making.

This role is hybrid-flexible and requires 2–3 days per week in our Burnaby, BC office.

You Will:

Organizational Design & Workforce Strategy

  • Partner with leaders to translate business priorities into people strategies that improve organizational performance, engagement, and retention

  • Analyze people data to identify trends and recommend improvements in organizational design, workforce planning, and talent management

  • Build trusted relationships with leaders and provide coaching, feedback, and guidance on team effectiveness, leadership organizational change, and talent decisions

  • Craft evidence-based cases for people investments that connect people decisions to business outcomes, including headcount, learning and development, and compensation adjustments

Talent, Performance & Leadership

  • Lead talent management initiatives within your assigned business group, including talent reviews, succession planning, performance management, and employee development

  • Support compensation and performance processes, helping leaders make informed and equitable talent decisions

  • Help leaders build high-performing, inclusive teams and foster an environment where employees can do their best work

Employee Relations & Organizational Health

  • Advise leaders on employee relations matters, performance concerns, workplace investigations, and policy interpretation

  • Proactively identify organizational trends and address issues by implementing solutions before they impact performance, engagement, or culture

  • Partner with Legal and People team stakeholders to ensure consistent and compliant people practices

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Partner with Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Learning & Development, and other People teams to deliver integrated solutions that support business goals

  • Support Remitly's commitment to belonging by helping leaders attract, develop, and retain diverse talent

  • Mentor and guide less experienced People team members, contributing to the growth and effectiveness of the broader team

You Have:

  • 7+ years of progressive HR, People Partner, or HRBP experience, preferably in a high-growth technology, fintech, or scaling environment

  • Demonstrated experience coaching leaders, managing employee relations, and navigating performance management

  • Experience supporting organizational design, workforce planning, talent management, and change initiatives

  • A data-driven approach to diagnosing challenges, identifying solutions, and driving measurable outcomes

  • Strong business acumen and the ability to connect people decisions to business outcomes

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build credibility and trust across all levels of an organization

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and make sound decisions for both employees and the business in a fast-paced environment

  • An outside-in mindset; you stay current on market trends and use that perspective to inform recommendations and strengthen employee engagement

  • A track record of building trust through integrity, sound judgment, and consistent follow-through
