Life Safety Technician- Bloomington Hospital

Job Description

Schedule: Monday- Friday; 7:00am- 3:30pm

Location: Bloomington Hospital

 

Responsibilities:

  • Works with the campus Life Safety Prints (LSP's) to check compliance of all rated walls, door assemblies and fire and/or smoke dampers. 
  • Ensures department is compliant with required inspections and maintains code compliance. 
  • Utilizes the work order system to document inspections and repairs. 
  • Coordinates updates to the LSP's with vendors as needed. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Requires knowledge with lock, door, wall and damper assemblies.
• Requires a basic understanding of the Life Safety Prints.
• Requires the ability to read and interpret information from blueprints, schematics and diagrams.
• Requires current knowledge of various federal, state, local, OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) and Joint Commission codes and regulations.
• Requires general knowledge of computerized building management systems software.
• An understanding of NFPA Code 80 is preferred.
• Requires a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
