At ERM, we’re looking for a Consulting Associate, Climate Change (Mid-Atlantic, U.S.) who is ready to step into a dynamic, high-impact role supporting complex environmental challenges. What You'll Bring:
Required:
Bachelor’s of Science in chemical, environmental, or mechanical engineering and related engineering degree; or equivalent experience
Recent graduate to 3 years of direct consulting or industry experience involving greenhouse gas or emission inventory support, product carbon foot printing, life cycle analysis, and/or Clean Air Act permitting and compliance
Strong hands-on spreadsheet and database comprehension
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities, as needed
Enthusiasm, initiative, flexibility, and a desire to work in a growing team
Strong problem-solving skills with a high desire to learn and apply new concepts
Preferred:
MS and/or EIT
Driver's License Required: This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area
Local or regional candidates preferred
Advanced Excel such as: Queries, Pivot Tables, Macros

Key Responsibilities:
Work collaboratively within a large team to deliver technical outputs that inform clients and project teams
Implement climate change projects, including greenhouse gas inventories, emission reductions, energy efficiency, public disclosure, and verification
Conduct air quality analyses, assess regulatory compliance, and perform regulatory applicability evaluations
Develop complete and accurate air quality permits for Title V, Prevention of Significant Deterioration, and New Source Review compliance; interact with local regulators to support application review and issuance
Conduct client site assessments, including leak detection and repair monitoring, stack testing support, and other on-site services as needed
Implement environmental management systems and processes
Prepare clear recommendations and technical reports
Perform environmental compliance audits and implement corrective actions to meet federal, state, and local regulations
Manage multiple tasks within scope, budget, and schedule while maintaining high-quality standards
Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, ERM colleagues, and subcontractors

For the Consulting Associate, Climate Change position, the anticipated annual base pay is $68,000–$91,731 (USD). Actual pay will depend on factors such as education, experience, skills, location, performance, and business needs. In some cases, pay may fall outside this range. This role may be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed term/flex force employees are not bonus eligible).
