Retail Dining Student Manager - OVAL/Centennial Market
Job Description
Campus Enterprises Mission: Campus Enterprises is NC State University’s division of retail and hospitality organizations — NC State Dining, NC State Stores, Lonnie Poole Golf Course, NC State Student Centers (Witherspoon and Talley), and the One Card Office. Each department is dedicated to providing service excellence, value, and enrichment of the student experience in support of academic success.
Purpose: Provide vital support to Campus Enterprises and NC State Dining by providing an excellent dining experience for all guests.
Compensation: $14.00/hr (Tier 4).
Additionally, eligible students will receive longevity raises based on their years of service within Campus Enterprises. Employees in Dining and Catering receive free meals and can earn an end-of-semester bonus of up to $200.

Primary Job Duties
-Assist General Manager, Head Chef, and Sous Chef with supervision such as scheduling, ordering, inventory, and receiving deliveries. -Assist in development of training materials for student employee positions including student managers, leads, cashier, and dining associates. -Open the Market and Food Hall each morning. Close and secure the Market each evening according to building hours of operation. -Provide active and comprehensive management of the daily event schedule including event preparation, monitoring, and turn over process -Respond to and manage incidents, injuries, and crises -supervise, develop, and train a staff of three to six students per shift -Complete proper shift reports (injury reports, Building Manager report, “prepped and ready,” etc.) -Train operations staff on proper setup, storage, and equipment handling techniques -Maintain a high level of professionalism at all times -Work special events and perform other duties as assigned -Remain in compliance with NC State Dining and Campus Enterprise policies and expectations at all times
Job Requirements
-Willingness to work evenings and weekends -Prior leadership, mentoring, customer service, or residence life experience preferred
-Ability to work collaboratively with residents, staff, and campus partners
-Demonstrate strong communication and leadership skills -Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
-Comfortable responding to emergencies and conflict situations calmly and professionally
-Must uphold university policies and serve as a positive role model
