Job Description
Job Summary
Responsible for supervising hourly employees in a manufacturing warehouse environment, ensuring efficient operations, compliance with regulations, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
Job Duties
Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping activities to meet production and delivery schedules
Lead, assign, and monitor work for a team of hourly employees, ensuring productivity goals and performance standards are consistently met
Train, coach, and develop team members on warehouse procedures, safety practices, and company policies; provide ongoing feedback and performance evaluations
Plan and adjust staffing levels based on workload, production schedules, and operational demands
Ensure accurate inventory management by conducting regular cycle counts, reconciling discrepancies, and maintaining proper system records
Investigate inventory variances and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring issues
Monitor workflow and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize processes
Enforce compliance with OSHA, company safety standards, and environmental regulations; conduct safety audits and lead corrective actions when needed
Maintain adherence to 5S and lean manufacturing principles to ensure a clean, organized, and efficient workspace
Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as production, quality, and logistics to ensure seamless operations and timely material flow
Prepare and maintain reports on productivity, inventory accuracy, safety incidents, and overall warehouse performance
Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and other software tools to track inventory, labor, and operational metrics
Address employee concerns, resolve conflicts, and handle disciplinary actions in accordance with company policies
Ensure proper handling, storage, and transportation of materials to prevent damage or loss
Support continuous improvement initiatives and participate in process optimization projects
Ensure all documentation (shipping records, inventory logs, compliance forms, etc.) is completed accurately and on time
Experience and Education
High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum of 4+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Working knowledge of warehouse operations, policies, and procedures
Proven ability to lead, direct, and develop employees
Experience with personnel decisions including hiring, performance management, and disciplinary actions
