Lead Physical/Occup Therapist
Job Description
Responsibilities
The Journeys and Adventures that Await:
In collaboration with Managers, the Senior Managers, and the Director of Physical & Occupational Therapy, the Lead promotes all aspects of the Physical & Occupational Therapy department throughout the DMG organization by:
- Performs patient care in alignment with the respective job description (Staff Physical Therapist/Staff Occupational Therapist).
- Will perform and delegate necessary tasks to both provide quality patient care and maintain efficient work flow at the site.
- Assessing work of staff at assigned site against expected outcomes. This includes productivity, quality and efficiency.
- Assisting with hiring, orientating and training new staff; this may be done in partnership with Clerical Leads, Program Coordinators or Senior Administration as needed. Training may be done in partnership with site staff as appropriate.
- Assisting with performance appraisals during annual review period as well as assisting with interim performance reviews with new staff.
- Supervises work performed by site staff. Counsels and coaches the team by guiding, directing, motivating and mediating conflict resolution.
- Ensuring work expectation, DMG and Practice policies are communicated and responsibilities are understood.
- Meeting regularly with Manager/Senior Manager to be a participant in planning discussions for goals for the practice and individual staff members/therapists.
- Insures high quality patient experience during all hours of patient care; acts as a resource regarding clinical issues.
- Directs staff questions to appropriate therapists, Program Coordinators and Managers as needed in order to ensure questions are answered.
- Responding to patient complaints and working to resolve concerns. Appropriately involves Manager/ Senior Manager as needed if resolution cannot be reached.
- Utilizing customer feedback data to determine areas of consideration and implementing changes and process improvement as needed.
- Managing and maintaining a flow of communication within the department including feedback from referring physicians and updates on projects and initiatives.
- Supporting staff members in growth and development of their career interests and providing recognition to staff that has gone above and beyond.
- Attending and actively participating in meetings and conference calls as requested.
- Maintaining files and records according to DMG, and HIPPA guidelines as appropriate and as relevant.
- Reviewing and Approving/Denying site time off requests, evaluating need for additional coverage. Editing and Approving site staff timecards.
- Ensuring that new patient evaluations labeled "priority" are seen within a timely manner at site by either themselves or working with staff therapist to add patient on to schedule in order to demonstrate commitment to the QEA goal of access.
- Demonstrating competence in applicable professional skills.
- Performing other duties as assigned from time to time
Qualifications
The Experiences You Bring:
- Bachelor's Degree in physical therapy or occupational therapy.
- Current PT or OT license in the state of Illinois.
- Two or more years of clinical experience.

- Full-Time, 40 hours per week.
- Must be willing to work two evenings until 8:00pm.
