Job Description
Audubon is currently seeking a Blaster / Coater / Painter I to join our team in our Offsite Office. The Blaster / Coater / Painter I performs painting on equipment, material, or structures. While being able to read blueprints and specifications for the job required.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify all tools required for tasks.
- Identify safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate those risks.
- Identify and mix paint and coatings as required and sand blast structures
- Know the proper use and techniques (stroke types) required per the paint/coating used and the item being painted or coated.
- Must be able to work at heights and off ladders and scaffolds safely.
- Housekeeping/Cleanup work areas.
- Read blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work: locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required.
- Must know how to spray paint, operate sandblasting equipment and fireproof applications
Health, Safety, and Environmental Responsibilities:

- Performing duties in a manner that protects personal and team health and safety
- Participating in required HSE training, meetings, and reporting activities
- Identifying and reporting hazards, near misses, and unsafe conditions
- Following safe work practices and complying with applicable regulatory requirements
EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Related trade school education is preferred.
- Five years' experience in the construction industry.
- Five years' experience as a painter.
- Must be able to obtain site and Safety training certifications required for the project.
- Construction safety practices.
- In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and HSE guidelines.
- Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate and report effectively.
- Ability to read, comprehend and carry out instructions.
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently when required.
- Ability to motivate, lead, teach and train on proper work and safety procedures.
- Ability to think analytically, apply sound judgment, and solve problems.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing. Individuals must have a valid driver's license and driving record that meets Company requirements.
